I keep hearing the term "Great Depression" being thrown around like beach ball at a rock concert. Are we really in a depression? When was the last time you stood in a cheese and bread line? Yeah, I didn't think so.
And if we are in such a great depression then why are people giving Barry O. $50,000.00 for his big party? I believe that is the minimum amount one can give in order to do whatever $50,000.00 gets you these days from an inauguration party.
It really is quite sickening.
If Barry and his ilk were really serious about "stimulating" this down economy then they'd make dear Shelly pay for her ball gown. You know Shelly O. won't be paying a dime for that damn thing - the designer will give it to her. And yet they are all raking in the dollars? So what gives? People are giving them money and ball gowns and who knows whatever else.
I don't want to hear one more word about this "great depression" that we are all in. It's an insult.

The “Great Depression” of the late 20’s through the early 40’s didn’t suddenly fall on the nation like a ton of bricks. It began before the stock market crash of 1929 and gradually grew until the crash and very few people realized what was taking place until that “Black Tuesday” when the stock market crashed.
As one who was born in 1933 and survived the worst of that “Great Depression”, and who keeps his eyes on economic matters, I believe there is sufficient evidence that we are now going through the same scenario that America did as the “Roaring Twenties” came to a close.
Those in power now, and those to assume power next Tuesday, January 20, don’t have a clue. They don’t understand economics and how economics is related to government policies. So far, everything they have done and propose to do is contrary to good economic principles.
This time survival may be more difficult for many people who don’t have the survival skills that most Americans had 80 years ago.

My Grandfather said there wasn't a dang thing "great" about the Depression.
