Calorie Restriction Versus Anorexia Nervosa

There is a small but growing group who believe that extreme diet significantly reduces the amount of food they eat, not only will delay the aging body, but also prevent heart problems, diabetes and other chronic diseases.

The movement, called calorie restriction or some call it CR, great attention from Baby Boomers. Longevity-obsessed people in this category are constantly looking for ways to stay young and healthy as long as possible.
    Calorie Restriction Versus Anorexia Nervosa
Calorie restriction is not just about weight loss as a typical diet. It is about long term reduce calorie intake and consuming adequate amounts of nutrients and elements at the same time with the aim of reaching old age is more energetic.

And there is scientific evidence for it. Many studies in rats and primates have shown that eating a little help them live longer and more energetic. Many people who follow calorie restriction claim that cutting the amount of food and calories will prolong their lives and keep them healthy longer.

The followers of CR generally eat 20-30% less than the recommended normal diet, avoiding sugar and saturated fats. Most of their calories come from fresh vegetables, fruits and grains.

So, for some people the CR is a good way to stay young and healthy longer. But on the other hand there are people who will put their health at risk by following CR. They are the people who have a tendency to anorexia and those with low body fat. Also, limiting the diet for at least 12 months even to people of normal weight can result in lower muscle mass and reduced capacity to perform physical exercise. In addition, dietary restriction of time can be associated with low bone density and osteopenia developed early.

Calorie restriction by itself does not mean people will suffer from anorexia in the future. The new research found that more than half the people who suffer from anorexia are genetically predisposed to it.

So, people who suffer from anorexia easily have the genes obsessive in their genotypes (or genes responsible for developing an addiction).

People with no tendency to develop anorexia is rarely if ever. Sometimes it is possible to predict whether a person can develop anorexia by watching their behavior closely. They usually have underlying problems such as self esteem, anxiety control problems, and depression. They also wanted to lose weight and self-control.

Concluded that caloric restriction by itself has two sides. When CR balanced helps some people to stay young and healthy longer. But on the other hand many people are obsessed with counting calories and reduce the amount of food that end up damaging their health and longevity.

Some people may develop anorexia as a consequence of the CR (which usually tend to it). To avoid negative side effects of CR is important to know about how to balance what you eat, what your ideal weight and fitness levels.

Disturb the balance will carry on one or other negative consequences of dieting. This can affect the subconscious mind and form the mental blockages that can have a disastrous impact on the people by becoming anorexic.

This then has the opposite effect of what CR people are trying to achieve and actually shorten their life span by 10 to 15 years. Plus these subconscious blockages can take many years to get rid of a lot of suffering.
