How to Help Young Children with Anorexia

What we understand from personal experience we encounter a child who is suffering from anorexia is that no one single definitive guidance or action for you and your child to follow that will guarantee a solution to their problems eating.

Attitudes and beliefs about children and adolescents and parents interaction affects the way you respond to your child.

You must understand that you are not responsible for your child's illness and you have to understand that your child turns into an eating disorder for emotional comfort and emotional pain, even though he / she can not recognize it.

Remember, that one approach to overcome illness if your child does not work there's always another way.

I want to say is that people who develop eating disorders is absolutely normal. Just something that happened in their lives that makes them really suffered emotionally and they turn to eating disorders to compensate for this emotional discomfort.

Other eating disorders like anorexia is not about food. Anorexia is a disorder of feeling, thought, identity, values, relationships, prevention and control.

If you fix all of the above or change this feeling with a new one (such as positive feelings and thoughts, strong sense of identity and values, both to overcome and control strategies, high self-esteem) you can conquer anorexia.

Only then will young people be able to recover from anorexia, an eating disorder quickly.

I must say that affects a person's subconscious mind is not a quick process. It will take time. But if you persevere you will surely see a significant improvement in your child's country in a few months after the start and do the above exercise.

How does it work, you may ask? Here is a brief and simple. Our brain consists of two parts (called hemispheres). Both hemispheres are covered by a thick layer called the cortex. Cortex is the conscious part of the brain, the part we think with (logical thinking). But this is not part of the brain responsible for our feelings.

We have a small part of our brain that lies between the two hemispheres and connects them. This small section is called the limbic system. The limbic system, as discussed in the next section, is involved in regulating emotion and motivation. In addition, part of the limbic system, amygdala and hippocampus, which is important for memory.

This part (limbic system) has no consciousness (no thoughts just feelings). Found that people with emotional problems have an imbalance of the limbic system. The question is: how to influence the limbic system and put it in the right balance?

The answer is: the cortex, which is the conscious part of the brain must affect the limbic system that does not have a conscious mind. The cortex, which makes decisions for us, learn new things, and understand things that we have to affect the non-conscious brain by giving signals to the limbic system to work differently.

Eating disorders are the most studied behavior. At first people to teach themselves to a diet to be slim. Initially it is their own conscious decision to lose weight because they want to look better. This conscious decision made by their cortex and the limbic system are sent to those who gave them a feeling (like feeling good about yourself if you become slim).

So, what you need to do is to turn: to say in other words you need to get people to change their perception (or their cortex). They must make another decision (about changing the image of their own and the feelings they have now, like starving themselves or clean up, return to the normal response) and sends this signal to the limbic system to develop a good feeling about their new decision has just been created .
